The Engine Room

The Engine Room is an independent arts and mental health project founded in 2016 by Lisa-Marie Gibbs, and initiated by a collective of individuals living with mental health challenges. We provide spaces, for people to create and connect. Our whole reason for being, is to nurture and offer sanctuary. Our passion is connecting with local communities and beyond, and looking at how through access to arts projects, can help to build mentally healthy communities and society as a whole, through peer supported arts programmes. In 2018 we received Heritage Lottery Funding to build The Lost Museum with the Dee Park Community, in the midst of a large scale regeneration project. This relationship continues to blossom and we weave stories through our connections.
